If you are interested in being considered as an ‘Adoptive’ home, or be involved and help out as a ‘Foster’ home, please contact me directly at the following link, and I will forward you a Rescue Application Form that you can fill out and return (via e-mail) so that I can determine if a current rescue dog is right for you, or maybe a future rescue would be better.

PAST RESCUES
Here are some of our past rescues (we can’t include them all here!), sweet souls who have found their new ‘forever homes’ thanks to special people who have opened up their homes, and their hearts, to these wonderful dogs.
For each, the left picture is the ‘Before’ when these dogs came to us, and the right picture is the ‘After’ once they were in their new homes.

‘Breezy’ was one of two sisters surrendered to our Rescue group network in Vancouver. Both girls were fostered with dedicated Samoyed folks, and one went to Kelowna to a home with another Samoyed. Breezy required longer term fostering due to an injury she had when she came to us, so she was fostered out on the Island with our Vancouver Rescue contact for a few months. We found the perfect home for Breezy – in Saskatchewan! We were referred to Pilots N Paws Canada, and we worked together to fly Breezy from Victoria to her new home. The folks dedicated to the Pilots N Paws Canada program were AWESOME, and we are forever grateful for their generosity! Breezy is doing well and is involved in various fun doggy activities.

‘King’ was not an official ‘rescue’ for us, however, we did help transport him from B.C. to his new home in northeast Alberta. King was a neglected dog that had lived his 7 years tied to a porch in his own filth, and was completely blind. Thanks to multiple other rescue groups in B.C., we worked together and he was able to find a wonderful home in Alberta, and is living the best of lives running free at last!

‘Mishka’ came to us from another rescue group in Alberta after his owners contacted them to surrender him. They had initially bought Mishka as a cute fluffy puppy for their children as a Christmas present. Of course once he was a few months old, he was too big and too energetic for the house, so they kenneled him outside and basically forgot about him. Once the barking and digging got too much, and he became too uncontrollable after no attention or training, they decided to surrender him. Mishka’s neck was shaved when he came to us due to the collar being matted into his coat. He was only a year old when he came to us, and after a few weeks in our care, he was given the best Christmas present ever – his new forever home in Vancouver, where he went hiking in the mountains his first day there!

‘Rex’ and ‘Spot’ came into our program when their senior owners decided they could not care for all of their dogs. At the time, Rex and Spot were two of six dogs that the family allowed us to re-home, with more dogs still at the home – hopefully more manageable for the family now. Both of these young dogs were almost the same age at 18 months old, and had very little muscle tone in their rears – different vets assessed both dogs as living in a very confined area (i.e. like a crate) for most of their lives. Rex was smaller and nervous without his buddy, Spot, who was just a typical goofy Sammy boy. We fostered them for a bit, and then we found experienced Rescue homes for each of them. Rex went to a home with another Samoyed and became a more confident, friendly boy, and Spot went to a home that previously had multiple Samoyeds over the years, but with just a cross-breed rescue dog at the time Spot joined them. Both Rex and Spot developed into true athletic Samoyeds thanks to a committed exercise program with their families, and are happy and healthy, enjoying lots of play time!
